While preparing dinner one night, I though about a event occurring thousands of miles away that I’ve been wanting to attend for years! In my misery I asked,

“Dear God, when will I attend this thing?”

I was about to wallow in misery when I was reminded of a Bible verse from a sermon I heard over 15 years ago. I remember it was Reverend Ukonu preaching that hot Sunday afternoon at ECWA Church D/Line in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. I don’t know what the sermon was about or anything else from that day except these words from Galatians 4:4 (NKJV).

But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,

This verse has stayed with me as a constant reminder to trust God’s timing. As I reflected on those words, I was also reminded that there were hundreds of years of God’s silence between Malachi and Matthew but that did not mean God was idle or confused or trying to work out what to do. It was all part of His plan.

So this is me surrendering.

I know that at the right time, I’ll attend that event. I know that at the right time, I”ll [fill in the blank] and you too will [fill in the blank].

Stay Encouraged, God’s got us!
